BIP offers persons and corporations, national as international with information and services regarding protection of their intellectual property.
As a governmental organization with more than 115 years of experience in trademark registrations, the BIP became independent in the year 2000.
The services provided for by BIP are:
Trademark Registration, both nationally as internationally
Patent Registration thru the Patent Center in the Netherlands
Information regarding copyrights

i-Envelope services
Laying down management and legislation drafting for intellectual property
Our goal is to offer to the community of Curaçao and other clients, excellent service on the field of Intellectual Property.
Here for, BIP has a developmental focus. We focus on developing law propositions on the area of intellectual property protection but are also focusing in the development of creators and local entrepreneurs.
Although independent, BIP is still the organization that represents the government on national and international level on matters regarding Intellectual Property. Thus one of the tasks of BIP is to advise the government on treaties on this subject matter.
Treaties on which our country is part of are:
Bern Convention, for the protection of literary and artistic works
Paris Convention, for the protection of industrial property
Singapore treaty, for the protection of trademarks
Madrid Protocol, for the international registration of trademarks
European Patent Treaty, for the registration of patents in Europe
WIPO copyright treaty, for the protection of copyright
WIPO Performance and Phonograms Treaty
BIP has a good working relationship with the WIPO, which is the World Intellectual property Organization. WIPO is the specialized agency of the United Nations, dedicated to promoting the protection Intellectual property throughout the world.
BIP assists on a regular basis international conventions such as the General Assembly of WIPO, the INTA and ASIPI.
